Farming Techniques

The EFFICIENCY of food production can be improved by using the following techniques:

1. Keeping animals INDOORS in SMALL PENS reduces ENERGY TRANSFER to the environment as less energy is LOST in MOVEMENT and as HEAT.  This makes farming more energy efficient however this can increase the SPREAD OF DISEASE and can be EXPENSIVE to keep the heating on.

2. Feeding HIGH-PROTEIN FOOD to animals to accelerate their GROWTH.
