Frequently asked questions

What's included for free?

Quite a lot. Revision notes for every AQA GCSE specification point in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, our memory trick videos, and past papers with mark schemes for GCSE and A-Level are all free — no account needed.

With a free account you can also save your progress, and get a couple of quizzes a day and a few exam questions per topic.

FRL Pro (£6 a month) removes the limits: unlimited quizzes, unlimited exam questions, unlimited flashcards and full progress tracking. Our live classes are separate — see the plans below.

What subjects do you offer?

We cover GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics — everything students work through in Year 10 and Year 11, following the AQA specification point by point.

We also run GCSE Maths, which is currently free.

When do your courses run?

Our live classes begin in September and run through the academic year to exam season, following a weekly schedule during term time.

Our notes, videos, past papers and quizzes are available all year round, whether or not you're in a class.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes. You can cancel any time from your account — there's no contract and no minimum term.

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you've paid for, so you keep access until then and you won't be charged again.

Do you have past papers?

Yes, and they're free. Question papers and mark schemes for GCSE and A-Level across a range of subjects and exam boards, organised by level, subject and board.

You can also record your marks as you work through them, so you can see how you're improving.

What are the requirements for enrolling?

There are no prerequisites for joining an FRL course — simply a good internet connection and a willingness to learn.

Can I speak to the teachers directly?

Our teachers work hard throughout the year preparing content and running the live classes. Students can ask questions during the live classes through the chat, and teachers answer them as they go.

If you have questions before signing up, email us at help@flashrevisionlab.com and we'll get back to you.

How do I know the teachers are credible?

Our classes are taught by Neen Sri and Nav Edward, both Imperial College London graduates with enhanced DBS checks and over a decade of teaching experience each.

Neen covers Biology and Chemistry; Nav covers Physics and Maths. Between them they've taught thousands of GCSE students, and our resources are used by over 150,000.

How does the course work?

The course is taught in weekly lessons with accompanying workbooks containing exam questions for homework, with video solutions available once you've attempted the questions.

Students get links to each live class as well as recordings of previous classes, so they can revisit any topic they're struggling with. Unlike private tutoring, everything is available to come back to whenever it suits you.

Why are these courses better than private tutoring?

Our courses provide structured learning — detailed workbooks and regular homework at every stage — at a fraction of the cost of private tutoring.

We've also built a whole library of resources around the classes, from concise notes to video solutions for exam questions, so there's support outside of lesson time too.

Will the course cover the curriculum taught at school?

Yes. Our courses follow the same GCSE specification your school uses, so we teach everything you need for the exams — no more and no less.

How does each lesson work?

Each lesson is delivered as a livestream by our teachers, working through the workbook provided for that session.

The live chat lets students ask questions at any point, and this can be done anonymously — so there's no pressure to speak up in front of others, while still being part of a group going through the same thing.

Every class is recorded, so any lesson can be rewatched as revision closer to the exams.

How do I pay?

Monthly, by card, through Stripe — the same payment provider used by companies like Amazon and Google, so your details are handled securely. We never see or store your card number.

Your subscription renews each month until you cancel.

What if I can't attend a lesson?

Not to worry. After a class finishes you'll have access to the recording, along with the workbook and questions, so you can catch up whenever suits you.

Is my child's data safe?

Yes. We only collect what we need to run the platform and track progress, we don't sell data to anyone, and we don't use advertising cookies or trackers.
